Khan Academy is an app boasting that you can learn "almost anything for free".  Thousands of videos and tutorials on almost every subject matter are available to students, parents, teachers- anyone who wants to learn more about a topic offered.  Topics are separated out by subject material as well as grade level. After viewing a tutorial, there are practice opportunities available to help apply what was just covered. Best of all- it's free.

As a classroom teacher, I used this app and website both for whole class lessons and to provide enrichment opportunities for more advanced students.  Sometimes it's really great to have another way to explain how to find equivalent fractions, or perform long division.  Khan Academy is not a substitute for quality classroom teaching but it often helps to hear something explained by a different individual.
